Upcoming Event: ELCA Churchwide Youth Gathering
June 27-July 1, 2018
(not including travel days!)
The theme, “This Changes Things” is based on Ephesians 2:8 “By grace you have been saved…”
WHO? Youth who will be in grades 8 through 12 on September 15, 2017
WHAT? 30,000 Lutheran Christians gathering for fun, service projects, fellowship, and worship. These gatherings happen just every three years, so depending on your age, this may be your only chance to go.
HOW MUCH? It depends on transportation costs, BUT substantial financial aid will be available.
WHO ME? YES!!! See Krista Sausser, Acacia Zerbe, or Cali Carl – they went two years ago, and although Cali will be too old, Krista and Acacia plan to go again this year!
HOW DO I GET STARTED? One or more parents, guardians or other adults AND the young person needs to attend an information meeting Sunday, June 11, following the 9:00 service.
WHO WILL BE THE LEADERS? Mary and Pastor Rowe
WHAT’S THE RUSH? Financial aid applications to the ELCA will be accepted starting July 15 (aid is first come, first served), and REGISTRATION begins September 15! In addition, we will have at least 12 preparatory meetings throughout the coming year before the churchwide gathering – for Bible study, group building, and developing a group covenant of expectations. We will also meet with other groups throughout the synod.
TELL PASTOR OR MARY ROWE THAT YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THE JUNE 11 INFORMATION MEETING!
